Crocworld Crocodile Farm

Crocworld, established in 1984, is situated at Scottburgh only a 30 minute drive from central Durban. Crocworld has become a popular tourist destination and has been voted as one of the top three destinations in the Greater Durban Metro.

We display at any given time over 10,000,00 Nile crocodiles as well as Alligators, African Long-shouted and Dwarf Crocodiles.

Crocworld is however, far more than a crocodile farm, it is a complete wildlife experience, it is also one of the finest examples of multi disciplinary land use in Natal, landscaped with indigenous trees and plants to blend in with the surrounding coastal dune forest.

The visitor can enjoy the tranquility of our 30 hectares of park like gardens, meander through the man made Wetland Park to view the water birds and flamingos enjoy waterfalls. A cycad garden has been established overlooking the magnificent sea and inland valley views.

The more daring can cross the Rope bridge suspended over the water of the enclosure, which holds Henry, the heaviest known Nile Crocodile in captivity.

George of the Jungle’s treetop house, is sited 10 meters above the forest floor and houses exotic parrots, monkeys and other small mammals. The top deck enables visitors  to view, but not disturb, the indigenous wildlife below.

Feeding is held twice daily at 11am and 3pm, and a guided tour of the farming complex is carried out where the public may view the rearing unit and controlled environment, and explains the intricacies of our farming operation which is the core industry of Crocworld.

Our resources center shows continuous videos of the Nile crocodile in the wild, and our curios shop offers a large selection of traditional and ethnic gifts and souvenirs. The Al-a carte restaurant offers a wide selection of formal and exotic meals including crocodile kebabs and steaks.

Crocworld in Scottburgh conducts Guided Tours twice daily at 11h00 and 15h00 except for Mondays out of season. Highly qualified rangers will meet you and guide you on a tour of the complex.
