Loerie Awards 2008
The Loeries Awards will take place again in Margate on the weekend of 26 to 27 July.
This is the 4th year running that Margate will host the Loerie Awards.
The MBA will once again ensure that the town is neat, clean and attractive. Islands will be tidied and plants added to islands and planter pots, in the CBD and around all the island intersections. We must all show pride in our beautiful town!
There will be a window dressing competition for The Loerie Awards, (R5000 first prize, R3000 Second prize, and R2000 third prize). The theme is "make your mother proud!"

William O Connor leading into Panarama Parade will be pedestrianised from Friday 25 July 2008 at 5am till Monday 28th July. Entry disks (no park) for business and accommodation establishments that will be affected will be available from the Margate Tourism office from 21 July 2008.
The Parade will take place on Saturday 26th - departing from fishing Pier, heading north up - turning into Marine Drive and then looping back down at the Margate Hotel and back towards the fishing pier. We have changed the route so as to incorporate the CBD into the procession. We are calling on local businesses to participate in this initiative too.
